BASIC TRUTHS ABOUT THE FAMILY (2) By: Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Dear Reader,
It is another wonderful week to bring God’s Word your way again, today. Last week, I taught on Marriage is for Good, Better And Best. I said, marriage should make a man to move up on the ladder of progress. It should take him from good to better, from better to best, and from best to the point of perfection in life.
Today, I shall be exploring the topic, “God’s Interest In The Family”.
You all know that God is interested in the family set-up. Whatever that is good is God. Whatever is not good is not God. God saw that everything He created was good, including the family.

God’s Interest in the Family
The family unit is currently facing one of its greatest attacks more than at any other time in history. More than ever before, the family needs the help of God from the troubles, woes and calamities that befall it daily. For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God (Hebrews 3:4). .
We have sought for help from man – traditional, political and spiritual places, only to find out that the help man claims to render is grossly inadequate. Man is still looking here and there in search of lasting solutions to the problems encountered in marriage. The Psalmist shows us the secret for an enduring solution: Give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man (Psalm 60:11).
God’s help is always available to us. God’s help can reach you, no matter in what area of family life you desire it. I believe it is coming your way right now via this teaching. The degree of problems you have experienced in your marriage notwithstanding, God’s help is actually all you need.
Although it is your responsibility to build your home, the ultimate builder is God (Hebrews 3:4).Whatever is built outside Him, therefore, has no future. In 2 Chronicles 26, we are told the story of King Uzziah, who became king at the age of 16, and reigned for 52 years. And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwell in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims (2 Chronicles 26:7).
He had a stable government, because God helped him against his enemies. That is the same way, I believe, God is going to help you to combat the enemies (barrenness, poverty, confusion, etc.) in your marriage. As help comes to you from heaven, they will all bow to you, in Jesus’ name!

God’s Involvement in the Family
In the story of creation in Genesis chapter 1, everything God spoke into existence, He saw. When it came to the issue of marriage, He didn’t just speak it into existence, He was practically involved in instituting it. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; and the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man (Genesis 2:18,21-22).
Since He is the Almighty, God could have simply said, “Let there be marriage” or “Let there be family life”, and marriage would have been instituted. The Bible says, “He took.” Even though it’s not explicitly stated, I strongly believe God must have come down physically into the Garden of Eden, to have been able to remove one of his ribs while he was asleep.
Whatever was strong enough to cause God to leave His throne in heaven, must be very important. “He took”, because something very important was on the way for man. Rather than taking the rib from Adam’s side, God could have simply commanded the rib to come out. But HE didn’t, showing how dear the marriage institution is to God. Therefore, it should be precious to you and me also. Not only did God take the rib from Adam’s side, He made a woman out of it, and brought her to Adam. These are action words that connote God’s physical involvement in establishing the marriage institution. God’s whole intention for instituting marriage is to take shame away from the life of man. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed (Genesis 2:25).

God showed His interest in marriage, by personally fashioning the woman and delivering her to her husband. It is, therefore, untrue to assume that the union of a man and a woman in marriage is man’s idea, or a cultural and traditional affair.
Therefore, to enjoy God’s best in your marriage, you must make Him the centre of your home. You must be ready to give Him priority place, recognizing Him as the foundation for a successful marriage. The problem with many couples is that they push God aside, and yet expect to enjoy divine benefits. They ignore the Word of God, which I call the “Manufacturer’s Manual”, and expect the product (marriage) to function perfectly. It is impossible! If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3).

God is the foundation for success in the home. However, when the foundation is faulty, no matter how righteous you may be, your home cannot stand. The right place to begin from is a personal relationship with God, through Jesus Christ. Not stopping there, you must be a diligent student of the Word, studying and practising it, as it is what holds the key to an exciting and successful marriage.
So, marital bliss depends on the place you give to God and His Word in your home. The more of Him you have, the more of peace, joy, happiness and sweetness you enjoy in your family. Upholding all things by the word of his power (Hebrews 1:3).
All things, including marriage, are upheld by the Word of God. God is power, and He upholds all things, including your home, by His powerful Word. Once God’s Word is given its rightful place in your home, it is built on a sure foundation, which must stand! Receive the grace to operate upon the Word now, in Jesus’ name!

In case you have never given your life to Jesus, you are not born again. There is no way you can make a good home. This comes by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. That is what being born again is all about. If you are ready to be born again, please say this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today as a sinner. Forgive me of my Sins. I believe You died and rose on the third day for my sins. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).

Dear Reader,
Happy New year to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ! With joy unspeakable full of glory, I sincerely welcome you into this glorious year. With praise and thanksgiving to God Almighty, who has brought us into this New Year with our families, I rejoice and congratulate you in Jesus’ Mighty name!
I have good news for you. I want you to know that there is so much good for you all in your homes, families, in the lives of your spouses, children, businesses, finances and careers this year, but the Bible says it is only for the obedient. If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land (Isaiah 1:19). Whatever the mouth of God tells you to do this year, do it. There is reward in obedience. You shall not miss your portion this year in Jesus’ name.

Purpose in your heart to obey God, determine to do His will, refuse to be among the evil doers, choose that which is good, and then, you will see His outstretched arm in your direction this year, and you will become a positive surprise to all around you in Jesus’ name
Your family needs the help of God from the regular troubles, woes and calamities that befall families in our world today. Man is still looking everywhere, in search of lasting solutions to the problems encountered in marriage and family. When you make God the first place in your family, He makes His help to reach you, no matter what area of family life you desire, and the level of problems you have experienced in your family. God is all you need throughout this New Year, to have all your needs met.

They ignore the Word of God, which I call the “manufacturer’s manual”, and expect the product (marriage) to function perfectly. It is impossible! Psalm 11:3 says: If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? God is the foundation for success in the home. When the foundation is faulty, no matter how righteous you may be, your home cannot stand.
To give God a place of priority in your family begins with your personal relationship with God, though Jesus Christ. The presence of God comes down in your home, when you are a child of God, a diligent student of the Word, studying and practising it, as these are the keys to an exciting and successful family. God upholds ALL things by His Word. Once His Word is given its rightful place in your home, it will build a sure foundation, which must stand! Receive the grace to operate upon the Word right now, in Jesus’ name.
Here is a testimony on the wise application of the Word of God.
“After my first child in May, 1981, I went from church to church in search of another child, not really knowing the Word of God. I was anxious, desperate, worried and lacked good relationship with people. This almost caused me my marriage. 
However, I got another baby in December 1991, (10 years later). I thought peace had come to the home; but no! There was no peace until I started coming to this church in July 1994. I gave my life to Christ in October 1994.
I started hearing the Word of God in a different way I had never heard it before! I started seeing changes in my home and in the relationship between my husband and I. Peace, joy, harmony and great love were restored to me.
Then I was still anxious for another child, since my baby was now over four years old, until I read the book ‘You Can Overcome Anxiety’. Anxiety died in me, because I now know God is able to do all things. My husband, by His grace, is now a man, husband and father. There is now peace in my home and office, and my relationship with other people is excellent.” — Hart, C. I.

So, family peace depends on the place you give to God and His Word in your home this year. The more of Him you have, the more peace, joy, happiness and sweetness you enjoy in your family. Receive the grace to allow God take His rightful place as the first in your family and grace for you to practice His Word in your home now in Jesus’ Name.
However, the first step to take, in order to give God and His Word priority place in your family and receive an ability to keep at it, is to give your life to God, through His Son, Jesus Christ. Giving your life to Christ entails confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour. That is what being born again is all about. If you want to give your life to Christ and be born again, please say this prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins and cleanse me with Your Blood. I believe You died for me and on the third day, You rose that I might be justified. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Make me a child of God today. Thank You for accepting me into Your Kingdom.

The Secrets of Family Increase By: Pastor Faith Oyedepo

Dear Reader,
Happy Prosperous New Year! You are welcome to this exciting moment in God’s presence on Family Success, in Jesus’ Precious Name!
2014 is gone, a new year has just began for you. You shall never have a better last year in Jesus name! The Word of God says: Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold! I will do a new thing (Isaiah 43:18-19).
Forget about all your past failure, your past prayerlessness, weakness and spiritual laziness, etc. This New Year, God is set to do new things in your life and family; the new things of God will not pass you by.

Do you know that there is a life of increase in God? I am talking about increase in every area of your life and family – home, finances, business. Are you longing to experience this in your family life? Then come along with me as we delve into the Word of God this new month, which is the first month in our year of Heaven on Earth. May the Lord give you quick understanding.
This week, we will be looking at The Source of Increase. Our God is a God of increase, and He delights in your increase. Increase is making positive progress, to satisfaction. It means where you were yesterday is not where you are supposed to be today. It means you are assessing yourself, your family life, your finances; they are all moving forward. I see you moving forward in every area of your life today, in Jesus’ name!

There was a time that God told Moses to tell the children of Israel to go forward, not to mark time on a spot. Beloved, are you going forward in your family life? Are you making satisfactory progress in your finances? Is the Word of God having positive effect in your family?
Any genuine increase, however, only comes from God. God’s Word says: I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase (1 Corinthians. 3:6). For your increase to last and be peaceful, it must come from God. Until God becomes your source of increase in your health, finances, relationships, etc, that increase will be short-lived. Don’t be deceived by forbidden shortcuts. For instance, if you want increase in the area of good health for your family members, let no one deceive you to begin to look for one herbalist or the other around the corner. They have nothing to offer. Make God the source of your health. Let Him be your Jehovah-Rapha.
Anything God cannot handle, forget it, no man can. In your finances, they may tell you there is one money doubler somewhere and one get-rich-quick magician. Never listen to them; it is a trap in disguise. Even if such money comes, it flies off immediately. It is characterised by many sorrows and pains. God’s Word says: The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it(Proverbs 10:22).
It is only the blessings of God that make rich without additional sorrow. In your place of work, never seek abundance by giving or receiving bribe. Don’t alter figures to favour your pocket. That’s not the way to long-lasting peaceful increase. Let God bless you and everyone you shall see it. When God is the source of your increase, He backs it up, and the increase will stand the test of time.
Look at this testimony:
“God increased my salary, and made sure it was paid, unlike the salary increase announced by the Federal Government, which some workers in the country are yet to enjoy. You need to know about my financial background, to appreciate what the Lord has done for me. 
I am a civil servant on Grade Level 07, earning less than two thousand naira as my take-home pay every month. With a family of five, it became compulsory for me to borrow money in order to survive every month. In fact, I was indebted to the tune of 35,000 naira. As a professional, I tried everything to get a better job, but all my efforts proved abortive. Today, I give God all the glory, because He has changed my financial status from a borrower to a giver, not just a lender! He blessed me and has made me a blessing to others.
As soon as I responded to all the teachings and divine instructions from this altar and the Bible, things turned around for me financially! I discovered through the help of the Holy Spirit that as a civil servant, it is possible for me to prosper, even as a driver. But He gave me a strong warning to do away with pride. Also, I prayed to God on behalf of my boss in the office, and God answered my prayer. He promoted my boss, and by his promotion, I was also automatically promoted. God has changed me from a civil servant to a ‘civil lord,’ because it is what I command that happens in my office now! I am now pleased and contended with my job.” – A, O.
Abundance is a covenant and covenant is a binding agreement usually between two people. In the case of abundance (Increase), it is a covenant between God and man (Deuteronomy 8:18).Furthermore, in a covenant, there are personal responsibilities, which must be fulfilled on the part of the two people involved.
To have access to increase, you must be connected to God, the source of increase. This is done by confessing your sins and accepting Jesus as your Saviour and Lord. If you are ready for this new birth experience, please say this prayer:

Dear Lord, I come to You today. I am a sinner. Forgive me of my sins. Cleanse me with Your precious Blood. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. Now I know I am born again!
If you prayed this simple prayer, you are now a child of God. He loves you and will never leave you. Read your Bible daily, obey God’s Word and seek Christian fellowship (John 14:21).
